We define Artificial Intelligence-Mediated Design & Media (AIDM) as design and media in which an intelligent agent operates on behalf of a designer by modifying, augmenting, or generating content to accomplish design goals. AI is rapidly evolving forward to design and media area.The recent advent of AIDM raises new questions about how technology may shape creative design and and requires re-evaluation – and potentially expansion – of many of design theories, frameworks, and findings. A research agenda around AIDM should consider the design of these technologies and the psychological, linguistic, relational, policy and ethical implications of introducing AI into design & media area.
